The altar inside of the Epiphany Church, a place for Catholic worship in downtown Pittsburgh. A priest will symbolically use incense smoke over the altar to carry their prayers up to God.

Offering candles line the interior wall of the Epiphany Church. Whether you are calling on a saint or sending thoughts to a deceased loved one, the smoke from the offering is used to honor the dead and to carry your message up to heaven.

A statue of Jesus sits inside the Epiphany Church near the front altar. While Jesus is believed to be a real person, he is symbolic of the human embodiment of God and his presence completes the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost).
